pCon.xcad is seamlessly integrated with AutoCAD® and can be controlled from the CAD system. Articles can be straightforwardly inserted into the overall plan and then configured and placed in the desired position. pCon.xcad manages an article list, which is automatically synchronised with the graphical representation of the plan. This can be structured in the form of a tree, which increases the clarity, especially when developing complex designs and plans.
As well as the insertion and editing on individual articles, special functionality enables several articles to be edited simultaneously hence speeding up the overall design process. pCon.xcad also allows selective 2D and/or 3D representation of sub-sections of an overall plan. This ensures the efficient handling of large and complex plans that possibly cannot be processed, in their entirety, in a three-dimensional form.
Special articles can be created by either modifying one that already exists or by drawing a new one. pCon.xcad supports the graphical representation of special articles plus the editing of the corresponding commercial information. Custom-made articles are also included in the article list just like those from the original catalogue.
pCon.xcad stores all information in the AutoCAD® DWG file. A file sent to a user who does not have pCon.xcad, can still be loaded without any problems, thus information can be exchanged securely between different users. In this instance only the graphical information will be available to them.
The pCon.xcad article list can be transferred to the pCon.basket tool where the detailed editing and refinement of the information created by pCon.xcad is done (e.g. the insertion of alternatives or the full configuration of articles and article groups). The process from the planning activity to the offer phase therefore not only becomes faster but also more secure. With this approach, pCon.xcad raises the bar for the commercial as well as graphical developement then presentation of quotations and orders.
