Wengo Information Services - MS-Access Starter Kits

MS-Access Starter Kits

This is an unusual service that is really aimed at the smaller business with limited or no I.T. development capability.

One of the widest used tools around for the "quick" development of small systems is MS-Acces® and as such it is used in all areas of business.

But (and this is a big BUT) for the “enthusiastic amateur” the initial design of the databases and screens then development of basic activities plus detailed testing can be frustrating, time-consuming and frequently discouraging. Unfortunately though for any such development these are the most labour intensive, but critical, activities in the whole development process.

What Wengo offer is a service to develop the basic structures, procedures, operational code etc. on behalf of the Client. Once these have been delivered and are in use then the Client can focus on expanding and enhancing the base product as they think necessary hence reducing the amount of time that they need to invest to the detriment of either their main business function or personal life.

Clearly our developers are not experts in the Client’s business so there will always be a need for some involvement if a viable solution is to be produced. Nevertheless by concentrating the Client’s effort upon defining exactly what is required rather than wrestling with the intricacies of database and programme development we believe that this time will be much better employed.

The stages, and involvement, in this process are as follows:
Activity Client Wengo
Review and define requirements X X
Produce Requirements Definition   X
Review and agree Requirements Definition X X
Carry out initial development and testing (including documentation)   X
Review initial development and agree changes and/or enhancements 1 X X
Produce updated Requirements Definition (if changes/enhancements)   X
Review and agree finalised Requirements Definition (if changes/ enhancements) X X
Complete development and testing (including documentation)   X
Carry out Client Acceptance Testing 2 X X
Sign off Development X
Install software 3 X X
1. Obviously any additions or enhancements requested during this stage may, after review, be subject to an additional charge.

2. Whilst every effort will be made to deliver a fully working product it is essential that the Client tests for themselves and ensures that they are fully satisfied. If any faults are found then the Developer will make the necessary corrections.

3.  We will install the software and ensure that designated users are given proper training in it’s use.Although the Client could probably do this alone we prefer to assist to ensure a fully understood and clean implementation.
